The American streets of the 1980s were alive with the rev of V8 Muscle Cars. The Drag Race scene was dominated by cars and motorbikes with high volume motors. Its massive DOHC-V4 of 1.200 ccm and four outlet technology delivered 103 kW (140 PS) and turned the radically styled muscle bike into a legend. It is still considered a collector’s item today. VMAX also made history with its sales number hitting 100.000, securing its place in the Guggenheim Museum, where - despite still being in production - the Yahama was presented as a part of “The Art of Motorcycle“ exhibition. 2008: A Legend Reborn
Thomas Duchnicki’s team took care of the location scouting, location management and complete production service. The new Yamaha V-MAX image film, commercial film and entire photo production were produced in one week at a Drag Race strip near Berlin. The photographer was Patric Curtet from Paris and the director was Oliver Imfeld. The agency was Dentsu Live from Brussels for Yamaha Motor Europe.
