Formula One news: Senna still without F1 contract
The F1 race calendar is building up to its finale and the silly season reaching a climax as the countdown begins for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. One face that could be slotting into the 2009 drivers’ group photo in Melbourne is that of Bruno Senna. Toro Rosso, Williams, BMW Sauber - his name has been bandied around in connection with all of them.
(firmenpresse) - “All I can say at the moment that none of these rumours has any basis in fact. Nothing has been signed, sealed and delivered,” avers Senna in his column for Motorsports-Magazine.com. “We are currently engaged in serious negotiations with various people from various teams, but nothing has been decided yet.” After all, he needs to consider his options beyond 2009.
However, his basic attitude remains consistent: “I would far rather be sitting in the cockpit and racing now than spending a year just testing and not getting any race practice. As things stand at the moment, I probably wouldn’t even put in all that many test kilometres either.” Senna is expecting some developments during the next few weeks, after a number of other key decisions have been made in Formula One.
