Péter Horváth Foundation strengthens TUM Campus Heilbronn

(PresseBox) - The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is establishing a new professorship for Controlling and AI with the support of the Péter Horváth Foundation. The foundation will fund research and teaching with three million euros. The professorship will be established at the TUM Campus Heilbronn, which is doing research on the digital transformation of the corporate world.

How can controlling processes be optimized strategically and organizationally? How can artificial intelligence help? And how can the management of corporate divisions, benchmarking or compliance benefit from this? These are possible research questions for the new Péter Horváth Endowed Professorship of Controlling and AI.

Controlling is also undergoing change as a result of the digital transformation. The professorship will therefore investigate and teach controlling and management processes in companies holistically and develop new concepts and methods, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence. The researchers will cooperate closely with practitioners, both in terms of AI development and with potential users.

The TUM Campus Heilbronn offers the best conditions for this. Here, TUM combines management studies and computer science to do research and teach the digital transformation of the corporate world.

??Pioneering spirit, as Péter Horváth himself lived it?"

Prof. Reinhold Mayer, Chairman of the Péter Horváth Foundation, says: ??Péter Horváth was always a thought leader and pioneer in the field of controlling. He would have approached the topic of Controlling and AI with great enthusiasm. In his spirit, we want to promote the topic through an endowed professorship. In Heilbronn, we not only find an ideal environment for this, but also the pioneering spirit that Péter Horváth himself embodied.?"

TUM President Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann emphasizes: ??We would like to thank the Péter Horváth Foundation for the great trust it has placed in our university. The future of Germany as a business location depends on companies successfully shaping the digital transformation. With its research and the training of talented young people, the new professorship will provide important foundations for this. The support from the Péter Horváth Foundation demonstrates the enormous appeal that the TUM Campus Heilbronn, financed by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation, has achieved and accompanies its path to becoming an important driving force for the digitalization of our economy.?"

The Péter Horváth Foundation was established in 2002 by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Péter Horváth (1937-2022). Horváth held the Chair of Controlling at the University of Stuttgart and is considered a co-founder of the scientific discipline of controlling. The Péter Horváth Foundation serves to promote science, art and culture as well as international understanding. In the field of science, it supports application-oriented research in economics, with a focus on promoting young talent.
