The History
The Caveman Music Festival was started by Brett McGraw, owner of Buckhorn Ridge Outfitters and the Monument Lake Resort, along with musicians Red Shahan and Parker Morrow. Their idea was to offer an unforgettable 3-day experience that included live music, camping activities, food, and accommodation all at one location.
Described as "absolutely incredible" and a "hidden gem of a festival," the event welcomes over 5,000 visitors every year. Recently, it was voted as one of Colorado s top ten Labor Day weekend events by the Denver Gazette.
The Attractions
Though event organizers have yet to announce the 2024 music lineup, past Caveman Music Festivals have played host to popular artists and bands like JJ Grey & MOFRO, Dawes, and The Sheepdogs. It s also worth noting that the festival has two stages, so you ll have plenty of options in terms of which performers you can see.
As far as camping activities are concerned, the resort has over 368 acres of terrain for hiking, as well as several lakes for boating, paddleboarding, and fishing. You re welcome to bring your own equipment, or you can rent pontoons, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards for additional fees.
