Earthworms provide food - fertilizer like potash too

According to the researchers, earthworms are responsible for over 140 million tons of global food production. This includes, for example, 6.5 percent of the global grain harvest. In the South, less pesticides and fertilizers are used, where the figure is as high as ten percent. Plants grown in agriculture need an optimal nutrient composition, and thus fertilizers.
