Advanced Studies In China - Not Just For Doctors
The programme 'My-China-Campus' offers unique opportunities for an additional medical education. Initiated by the German physician Thomas Weiberlenn, this project at the Guangxi Medical University (GMU) provides excellent chances for practice-oriented additional training in Western as well as traditional Chinese medicine. And all that at a highly attractive price.

Programme director Dr. Thomas Weiberlenn explains the rare chance this programme offers: 'Practical anatomy, Chinese language and acupuncture - all this rolled together into one can - in these days -only be had in China'. The main feature of 'My-China-Campus' is the potential for anatomical studies for all participants. The only precondition is a higher education entrance qualification or a completed vocational training.
The Guangxi Medical University has been founded as early as 1934 and ranks among the oldest and most renowned universities in China - and is also approved by the WHO. The'My-China-Campus' programme is an ideal preparation for future studies as much as accompanying university courses as an advanced or supplemental training. The courses will be in anatomy, histology, physiology, cell biology plus TCM - traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Thomas Weiberlenn will be supervising the TCM personally and teach the students in a fortnight's intensive theoretical and practical training. Weiberlenn stresses: 'What will be taught here is more than an introduction but rather a solid base for a proper university education - actually for all medical professions!'
The exceptionally low fee of 10,000 Euros (compared to other European universities) offers unique chances during the months of January to September 2008, since apart from the medical sciences there are also courses in Chinese as an everyday language, trips around the area - and, of course, the accommodation costs for nine months. All rooms are up-to-date and located on the campus. They are equipped with en-suite showers, air-conditioning, a telephone that can be reached from anywhere in the world, a stable broadband connection as well as kitchen, balcony and a complete furnishing.
Guangxi Medical University has been teaching foreign students for more than 30 years - now this becomes available for Western guests for the first time. All participants are accommodated at the 'School of International Education' near the lecture halls. The staff is especially trained to look after foreign students and thus make 'My-China-Campus' even more a special and success-oriented programme.
