Hand-on fun against AIDS gets the message across says the Bundesverein zur Pr?vention
(firmenpresse) - Berlin/Hamburg. Within the framework of their Prevention symposium, of the German organization Dachverband Bundesverein zur Pr?vention von sexuellem Missbrauch an M?dchen und Jungen e.V. [transl.: Central Association for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children] tested new prevention materials in both their own and in related fields, including the AIDS prevention game Think Negative!?. They classified the game as ?highly suited? to supporting campaigns of AIDS prevention and for sex-education for young people.
The specialists from the German Bundesverein zur Pr?vention ? all proven experts in the field of educational science and therapeutic studies ? carried out test runs and subjected the game to an objective evaluation. In the process, the appearance and didactic-contential aspects of the game were tested. Format, material and comprehensibility all received the highest possible score. The target group aimed for by the game was evaluated as well met ? Think Negative! ? was seen as being definitely helpful for youth work. Furthermore, the judges emphasized that both culture and gender specific considerations were addressed in the questions posed. ?This is something for my youth group! - And for the parents as well. The game makes it much easier to address questions important in life. You can simply talk, laugh over the sometimes hilarious multiple choice questions ? and learn something as well.? Thus Sonja Blattmann, sex educator, author, songwriter and member of the Bundesverein zur Pr?vention.
This judgement underlines the feedback given from those involved in youth work, amongst others from Wilfried Just, a project manager with Lebensrausch. He adds that ?the game is well suited to getting the message across in a hands-on fun way and reinforcing what has already been learnt?. Lebensrausch is a project which nurtures young people in the areas of journalism and play development. The patron of Lebensrausch is the minister-president of Sachsen-Anhalt.
