New Way to View NFTS Permission for Windows Administrators
Update allows more insight into access permissions
(PresseBox) - Update 1.15.0 adds a variety of new features to FolderSecurityViewer (FSV). Most importantly, the User Permissions Report simplifies gaining permission insights for Windows administrators. This report shows which permissions a certain Active Directory User has for a specified directory.
Our NFTS Permissions Reporter helps organizations of all sizes. Rising security, privacy and transparency demands required an option to analyze access permissions of specific users to certain directories. FolderSecurityViewer makes all NTFS access permissions clear. FSV creates reports on folder hierarchies, assigned permissions and the overview over individual directories at the press of a button.
Version 1.15.0 adds a new way to view permissions. IT-administrators can now search for individual users: Which permissions does a user have to which directory? This allows for quick analysis of access permissions for individual users ? contrasting the previous process of having to find user permissions in reports for each folder.
Following numerous customer requests, the new version also adds two features which simplify FolderSecurityViewer usage for users with lower technological affinity:
The first addition is a new option in the configuration file which can be centrally distributed. This setting locks the configuration of FSV. That way, users such as team leaders, project coordinators and data specialists can easily conduct analyses without accidentally changing settings and/or triggering errors.
The second addition is a new tab labeled ?Templates?. The templates save users time and simplify tool usage. The user creates a report once with the necessary information on which folders/users/directories to analyze. Creating a template then allows FSV to generate the report at a single button press.
Smaller bugfixes and changes such as the ?Refresh Button?, an option of limiting scan depth of the User Permissions Report and the option of directly searching for active directory users complete the update.
