AVG has over 500 train drivers covering its routes in and around Karlsruhe. To incorporate them in dispatch more effectively and speed up processes, they all received new tablets with IVU.pad as part of the introduction. This means that they are always in contact with dispatch: reporting duty sign-ons, viewing duties, displaying time sheets and submitting duty requests .pad.
The tablet is part of a comprehensive overall solution for a continuous digital workflow in planning and dispatch. Furthermore, IVU.rail speeds up processes at AVG through a host of automated functions. Planners now have integrated duty and vehicle working scheduling with an optimisation core that ensures better duty schedules. To allocate the right tracks in stations and depots, IVU.rail contains integrated track occupancy planning with a graphical editor. Automatic personnel dispatch suggests optimum duties for drivers at the touch of a button
The introduction project was accompanied by a wide-ranging restructuring of dispatch processes at AVG. It was also important to map extensive fare regulations in IVU.rail as part of this process.
