Side channel compressors in ATEX have wide-voltage motors in IE2 version

Plant manufacturers prefer to use long-voltage motors of the new energy efficiency classes. This also applies to side channel blowers in the standard version and ATEX protected version. The reason for this is that in different countries of the earth also different mains voltages are operated. If a motor used in a system can only be operated with a small span of voltage, then the entire system can only be sold to countries that operate this voltage. Customers of SKVTechnik are keen to build plants as flexibly as possible. At this point, the side channel blowers of SKVTechnik start. In all new models of side channel blowers and fans, the normal engine versions in versions with wide-voltage motors have been replaced in the new energy efficiency classes. This applies to both side channel blowers and fans in standard equipment and in ATEX design.

Conversion to IE2 motors:
A noteworthy further advantage of the new engine versions is the simultaneous conversion to energy-efficient IE2 motors. The efficiency of electric drives must be increased. Customers of today''s plant manufacturers look more closely when it comes to the consumption of electrical energy of the plant. As a result, plant builders today are forced to use side channel blowers with a higher energy efficiency than a few years ago. In the US, minimum energy efficiency standards have long been in place for the installation of engines in side channel blowers. In the USA, IE2 motors today account for more than 52 percent. On the basis of the European Ecodesign Directive, mandatory regulations for engines and the use of frequency converters have been issued in this country. In addition, new energy efficiency classes have been developed for engines. Of course, these guidelines also apply to side channel blowers operating on frequency converters.
The efficiency of motors is defined as the ratio of mechanical output power to electrical input power. It can also be said that the efficiency is also measured by the amount of losses within the engine. Energy-efficient engines have up to 40 percent higher energy output than normal engines. In the long run, this is reflected in the cost of operating a side channel blower.
