donr Launches New Text Giving Service
Increased text donation limit to ensure that donations via text message remain a strong tool for fundraisers
(firmenpresse) - Newcastle, 8th November, 2018: donr (donr.com) is today launching a new text giving platform which offers a better way for charities to take donations by text message. The new platform will be called Text Giving.
The new Text Giving platform increases the maximum donation amount from GBP10 to GBP20, and allows charities to choose any keyword (eg. DONATE) when asking for donations. Charities can signup online and there is no setup fee or monthly fee.
"We know that charities can raise a lot of money from donations by text message, but most text giving platforms are either prohibitively expensive or don''t have the features that charities have come to expect, like higher donation amounts. We wanted to ensure that small to medium charities were also able to easily access the latest evolution of text giving," said Chris Newell, CEO of donr.
For charities, the benefits of the new service will be that they can sign up online within a matter of minutes - with no set up fee or monthly fee for charities to pay. Once signed up, charities can choose their keyword, or keywords if they want to run multiple campaigns. With no limits on the keyword that can be used, charities are able to select the keywords that will most closely resonate with their audience.
For donors, the service will be simple to use. They can donate up to GBP20 by sending a text message with the charity''s keyword followed by the amount (eg. DONATE 20) to the shortcode 78365. For donors that want to use mobile and digital services when they donate to charity - the new ''digital generation'' of givers - then the new Text Giving service now extends the amount they can give from GBP10, which is the limit with other services, such as the now closing JustTextGiving.
This new user-friendly system will appeal to a new generation of digital donors, allowing them to donate using a method that fits their lifestyle. While charities of all sizes will be able to reach the digital generation with their causes and fundraising and will benefit from the increased donation limit and the fact that there are no sign up or monthly fees.
