Wyndal Gordon, an attorney at law in Baltimore, speaking about the importance of fighting against socially unacceptable behaviors. The talk is called What To Do When You See Something Wrong, and offers guidance for anyone who is concerned about how to act when they see something socially unacceptable taking place. Viewers will learn what they can do to combat injustice, and hear more about the #ThisIsWrong hashtag to document it.
By posting unacceptable behavior when it occurs and tagging it with #ThisIsWrong, people can work towards bringing about change and living better, safer and more healthy lives.
In his talk, J. Wyndal Gordon explains that he deplores apathy, and abhors injustice. He positions himself as a challenger and opponent to injustice when it arises, and showcases how others can join the fight.
Mr. Gordon says that when he sees a good fight, he gets in it, but he has learned over the years that its not always necessary to meet force with force. Often its better simply to meet force with finesse and intelligence.
He says: Water doesn''t have to slam up against the rock. To understand that it is just as powerful as a rock. When the right pressure is applied persistently, and over time, water can break down and even destroy a rock.
He adds: We live in an age where we have technology on our hips, and access to the internet on our fingertips. We''re exposed to the great virtues and vices of our times.
Mr. Gordon goes on to say: We have the ability to take that technology and use it for good. We have the ability to record videotape. We can audiotape, and we can document injustice when we see it. We simply hashtag it #ThisIsWrong. When we do that, we capture and we bind injustice like wild beasts.
Mr. Gordon is a respected trial attorney and represents both individuals and small businesses. He is a recipient of the first annual Leadership in Law award, and regularly speaks at schools, churches, symposiums, and other events.
