Reliable&clean energy for the refugee camp Mam Rashan
greentech supports a photovoltaics project in Iraq
(PresseBox) - The refugee camp Mam Rashan is located in 75 kilometres distance from the city Mosul in northern Iraq. About 8.500 people have found shelter in Mam Rashan from the violent conflicts which keeps haunting the region. Donations made it possible to erect important structures such as living containers, schools, a hospital, a football field and a trauma centre. However, the camp can only be provided with electricity during night time. Thus, during the day there is no electricity for cooling systems, cooking or electronic devices.
Through the initiative of the non-profit organization atmosfair gGmbH, Mam Rashan is now to be provided with a 300 kWp PV-plant in combination with an energy storage solution. The major financing comes from the foundation for development cooperation ?Stiftung Entwicklungs-Zusammenarbeit Baden-W
As an experienced PV-specialist, greentech contributes to this project with supporting the operation & maintenance of the plant. As a part of this greentech provides special trainings to the local electricians in the field of monitoring and maintenance. The trainings include the following aspects:
General introduction into PV-systems
Health & Safety
Monitoring & data analysis
Preventive maintenance
Reactive and corrective maintenance
Furthermore, greentech will support the monitoring and assist in solving technical issues for one year. This includes the integration of the PV-plant into the monitoring portal, daily active monitoring, issue analysis and inspections as well as maintenance.
