This year, the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals celebrates 50 years of history made by five stars of the 1968 drag racing action - the Dodge Dart, Dodge Super Bee, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Barracuda and the Plymouth Road Runner. Quarter Mile Addiction too is honoring the legends with its exclusive and branded T-shirts and merchandise.
For the records, the Coke style with a curvier front fender and rear quarter panel was the work of designer Richard Sias. The front and rear end work was done courtesy Harvey J. Winn. Several alterations were done to the interiors too, like removal of center armrest and rear bucket seats. The power came from a 318 cubic inch V8 engine, with options for 375hp Magnum or 425hp Hemi. The Charger R/T 440 also featured the Scat Pack and bumblebee stripes, with a famous cartoon ad campaign.
The 2018 edition of Carlisle Chrysler Nationals will be a fun filled extravaganza for all mopar fans. On show there will be legends drawn from historical moments of drag racing, such as the muscle cars, classics, power packed vehicles and new brands, with the presence of vendors, a car corral and Manufacturers Midway.
For those who want to make their visit to the Carlisle Fairgrounds even more special, Quarter Mile Addiction T-shirts and merchandise will come handy. The Legends of 1968 features five iconic cars of that year, the 1968 SS Barracuda, ''68 Plymouth Roadrunner, ''68 Dodge Coronet/Superbee, ''68 Dodge Charger and the ''68 SS Dart.
