On the 27th March 2018, The SMi Group hosted an industry briefing day to launch The Defence Safety Conference which will take place on the 1st and 2nd of October 2018 in London.
The conference which will be supported by the Defence Safety Authority, UK MoD.
Featuring high level briefings from senior leaders from 10 nations and covering the broad spectrum of safety across Military Aviation, Land and Maritime, the Defence Safety Conference will aim to reduce avoidable deaths, improve protection of capability and preserve the reputation of those that operate, supply and support defence services.

Throughout the course of the morning attendees heard briefings from Lieutenant General Richard Felton CBE, Director General, Defence Safety Authority, UK MOD, Rear Admiral Rick Thompson CBE, Chief Operating Officer, Defence Safety Authority, UK MoD and Miles Dixon, Director, SMi Group.
Industry attending included: ARTEC, ASCENT, Babcock Aviation, BMT Asset Performance, Boeing UK, General Dynamics Land Systems UK, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin UK, MBDA, QinetiQ, SERCO, SMi Group, Thales UK, UTC Aerospace Systems and Rolls Royce.
