Ofcom and the UK Minister for Digital to keynote Connected Britain 2018

Held at London''s Business Design Centre on the 19 - 20 June, Connected Britain 2018 returns for its fourth year to bring together the main stakeholders and key players in the digital revolution to discuss, learn and collaborate on the UK
The Connected Britain agenda features over 150 high profile speakers, including Sharon White, CEO of Ofcom. Ms. White, who will provide a keynote address on Day 1, is set to outline how Ofcom is working to deliver a regulatory and investment environment that will help deliver superfast and ultrafast networks. Joining Ms. White is Ofcom colleague Philip Marnick, Group Director, Spectrum at Ofcom. Speaking on Day 2, Mr Marnick will join a panel titled: ''Strategies for delivering our 5G future'' and will be accompanied by Marc Allera, CEO of EE, and other senior representative from mobile operators O2 and Three. Together they will discuss whether the UK is ready for the launch of 5G in 2020, as well as investment strategies for delivering the 5G future.
Margot James MP, Minister for Digital, will also provide a keynote address on Day 1 to continue the discussion on the UK''s digital future. In addition, debates on the road to full fibre and whether regulations need to change will come from key industry figures from speakers representing CityFibre, BDUK, TalkTalk and Openreach.
"It''s been an interesting year for the industry, with the government announcing new funding for network upgrades, huge ongoing investments from telcos with a renewed focus on achieving full fibre and 5G, and ongoing uncertainty in the regulatory sphere," said Rob Chambers, Managing Director at Total Telecom. "The Connected Britain conference will provide rounded coverage of how all this activity will impact your business and the industry more widely."
The event boasts four conference streams: Gigabit Britain, Digital Britain, Smart Britain and Connected Society, which will allow attendees to hear from the biggest operators, OTT players, altnets, government representatives and vendors on how they are embracing and adapting to the changing connectivity landscape in the UK.
Connected Britain 2018 is on target to welcome over 800 attendees as it explores how Britain can truly capitalise on the opportunities of the digital era. Organisations confirmed to sponsor at the event include Nokia, Nominet, Corning and Mentor.
