Z-Wave technology continues to grow rapidly
• Number of Z-Wave Alliance members grows to 600
• 2,100 certified Z-Wave products worldwide (25% growth in 2017)
• Z-Wave joint booth at IFA will grow by 50%
(firmenpresse) - Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 05/07/2017 – Z-Wave Europe, the leading European Value Added Distributor for Z-Wave based wireless home automation, informs about a strong growth of the Z-Wave technology.
The Z-Wave technology, which was developed specific for smart home applications, has reached another milestone. According to the international Z-Wave Alliance, which is supported intensively by Z-Wave Europe GmbH, the number of members increased from 450 to 600 within the first half of 2017. Furthermore, the selection of worldwide certified products grew by one quarter from 1,700 to 2,100. Thereby, 98% of all new certified products received the ‘Z-Wave Plus’ certification evidencing particularly user-friendly operation, easier installation and increased performance as well.
Z-Wave is one of the largest manufacturer-independent ecosystems for connected home technologies (smart home). This technology was explicitly developed for home automation both for new and existing buildings as well. This results in an optimized and lower radio radiation, lower energy consumption as well as the so-called meshing, which enables higher stability of the wireless network.
‘Z-Wave is the strongest growing smart home technology worldwide and becomes more and more present in Europe, too. In the midterm, numerous proprietary island systems will be replaced by manufacturer-independent technologies. Companies such as Samsung Smart Things, Nokia or Danfoss have already recognized the trend and integrate the Z-Wave standard into its devices.’, says Prof. Dr. Christian Pätz, European spokesman of the Z-Wave Alliance.
Currently, Z-Wave Europe distributes around 250 Z-Wave products. Therewith, it is the biggest distributor in Europe. At this year’s IFA show, which will take place in Berlin from September 1st to 6th, Z-Wave Europe will organize the Z-Wave joint booth again. Here, the exhibition space and the number of exhibiting Z-Wave manufacturers will grow by 50% compared to 2016.
