XMA Wins Five-Year Prestigious Contract with University of Northampton for New £330m Campus

ALBANS, UK – 30th June, 2017: IT solutions provider XMA today announced it has been chosen to partner the University of Northampton in one of the most ambitious projects in the higher education sector, providing the IT hardware and software solutions for the University’s new Waterside Campus, due for completion in September 2018.

ALBANS, UK – 30th June, 2017: IT solutions provider XMA today announced it has been chosen to partner the University of Northampton in one of the most ambitious projects in the higher education sector, providing the IT hardware and software solutions for the University’s new Waterside Campus, due for completion in September 2018.
The new campus is being built from the ground up in the heart of Northampton at a cost of £330m, and will become the new home for the University’s teaching, research and consultancy.
XMA will be providing a comprehensive range of innovative IT infrastructure solutions to support high performance mobile access, protect data and provide agile working spaces for around 15,000 staff and students.
XMA Chief Technical Officer, Peter Heath, said: “We are delighted to be selected by the University of Northampton to be its IT partner of choice for the delivery of the highly innovative Waterside Campus. By providing the University with a state-of-the-art IT solution, we will deliver the tools it needs to enhance the learning experiences of everyone who is lucky enough to learn there.”

XMA was selected as part of UoN’s OJEU tendering process and has agreed a five-year contract. The solution areas covered include best-in-class computing devices and audiovisual equipment to support technology-enhanced learning, unified communications and collaboration solutions for 24/7 access to resources off and on campus, universal Wi-Fi coverage and high capacity connectivity services, and comprehensive storage, backup and security infrastructure.
