(businesspress24) - Munich is a city bursting with culture. With historic buildings, multiple theatres and opera houses and of course all of that incredible food, it’s the perfect destination for your family holiday. What really sets it apart though is its diverse and fascinating museums. Even the surliest of teenagers will not be able to resist enjoying themselves in one of these incredible interactive spaces.

Museum Mensch und Natur

This Museum of Man and Nature is just €3.50 and is open all days of the week except Mondays, with a special late night opening on Thursday until 8pm. It explores the history and origins of the earth, and humanity’s relationship with and influence upon nature.
The permanent exhibitions include minerals, food, the history of life, nerves, genes and even an earthquake simulator, but there is also a rotating programme of special exhibits that change throughout the year. The museum’s highlight is Bruno, a brown bear who travelled by himself all the way from a wildlife restoration programme in Italy and was the first creature of his kind to set foot on German soil in 170 years.

Museum Mensch und Natur features a variety of interactive exhibits, lectures and guided tours, and is an interesting and immersive experience that your teenagers will love.

Das Kartoffelmuseum

This free museum is open all day Friday and Saturday and Tuesday-Thursday by appointment only, and is dedicated to the most specific and yet beloved of subjects- the humble spud.

Discover the history of the potato, including how they were used as hot water bottles in the 18th century, learn about all of the different forms a potato can take, and admire the many painting and sculptures that take inspiration from this marvellous vegetable. As well as being possibly the oddest museum you’ll ever visit, it is also makes for a genuinely fun and interesting visit.

The teens will find it hilarious to see how far people around the world take their obsession with potatoes, with some making jewellery and even telephones out of them. They can even pick up their own themed souvenir from the gift shop- how about some potato moisturiser, or they could buy some potato gingerbread for friends?

The Rock Museum

Set at 290 metres above ground level, The Rock Museum Munich transfers your attention immediately to its impressive title of “the highest museum of its kind”. Restricted by space, the museum can only display 1% of its total collection at any one time, but the exhibits that you’ll see are still incredible. Including microphones used by The Beatles and guitars autographed by KISS, the collections are fascinating for teenagers and parents alike.

Prices are €5.50 for adults and €3.50 for children under 16, and the museum is open all day every day.
