Original Gourmet is one of the best-selling brands of our wholesale sweets. They claim to make the “World’s Best Lollipop” – so what makes them so special?
Aside from the great quality and taste of their products, these pops come from America, the birthplace of the lolly. Legend has it that Americans have been partial to a pop since the Civil War of the 1860s. A few decades later, an enterprising fellow called George Smith started selling the sweet treat in Connecticut in 1908. The popular candy was named a ‘Lolly Pop’ after a famous race horse at the time in 1931 when Smith patented the confectionery.
Original Gourmet is a modern take on these all-American, old-timer treats, with fun flavours and bold colours that stand out from the rest.
The ‘Pop
The product itself is exceptional. Original Gourmet’s lollies are bigger than average, weighing an impressive 1.1 ounces. Unlike low-quality alternatives, these bad boys will last a whole hour! The folks at Original Gourmet have thoughtfully used plastic sticks, rather than the traditional cardboard, to ensure strong support throughout the lolly-eating process. No soggy, sticky sticks here!
The pops are crystal clear with full, long-lasting flavours and bold tastes. A personal favourite of mine is Cotton Candy, which evokes the sweetness of the fairground and lasts a lot longer than my candyfloss ever did! In total, Original Gourmet offers 12 flavours including the refreshing Watermelon, Juicy Grape, and Tropical along with more classic pop flavours like Bubblegum. A unique manufacturing process allows the brand to create swirls of real cream inside some of the pops. For example, the innovative Root Beer Float flavour contains a swirl of vanilla cream throughout the centre of the lolly. Delicious and pretty!
In fact, each individual flavour is bright and bold; beautiful spheres in a magical variety of colours from the delicate rose of Pink Lemonade to the vibrant red and yellow stripes of Strawberry and Banana.
Sitting Pretty
This stalwart of wholesale sweets has you covered when it comes to displaying their beautiful wares. They sell a variety of units so you can find the perfect fit for your store. The high-quality wooden counter is a flexible option ideal for last-minute till temptations. The floor display is a larger unit with space for 272 lollies. The magnetic poles, available in different lengths, can be screwed onto a wall or placed on the side of a chiller cabinet.
The lollipops are wrapped in clear covers allowing the bright colours to do the work for you. Colourful and attractive signage is provided with all display units to draw in the customers.
