First worldwide release of Iron Man Trilogy as 4K HDR Blu-ray Disc
A sensational republication has been released this month:
The complete Iron Man Trilogy, distributed by Concorde Home Entertainment in Germany, is available as a 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc as of April 6, 2017 - for the first time in HDR.
(firmenpresse) - For the first time ever worldwide, GLS Studios produced a new version of the legendary Iron Man movies in UHD and HDR. Not only the Blu-ray mastering, but also complete 4K upscaling and a complex HDR grading were realized by GLS Studios.
The three Ultra-HD Blu-ray discs have a capacity of 100 GB each. In addition to the feature film, the discs also include the extensive bonus material of the earlier Blu-ray editions.
The respective masterfiles in DCP format, which have a resolution higher than the standard HD material as well as an already extended color spectrum, have been used as the working basis.
The source material mentioned was scaled to UHD resolution by a high-end upscaling process in the first step. At the same time, the existing grain was also post-edited.
The subsequent grading into High Dynamic Range (HDR) was implemented according to the optimal contrast ratios for each scene and each shot. Some of the layers were created for specific objects in the image, which are then highlighted in HDR to accentuate the extended contrast range.
The new editing now visually emphasizes all the details and all day and night scenes particularly well and sheds special light on the metallic Iron Man suit.
CONCLUSION:
A literal highlight for all Iron Man fans and of course an absolute must-have for all owners of UHD and HDR capable home cinema equipment!
