App monetises crowd-sourced mobile signal data to get share of £1.25m revenue fund

(firmenpresse) - London, UK. 28 March, 2017: Tutela, the crowd-sourced wireless analytics monetisation (WAM) company, has today announced its partnership with social app, BRO (www.bro.social). The partnership will see the app, which is a social platform just for men, benefit from additional revenues generated as a result of Tutela’s technology.

Tutela’s software package (SDK), is currently deployed across millions of devices and hundreds of thousands of apps across Europe and globally. The company announced recently that it anticipates its partners in Europe will collectively earn in excess of £1.25m in revenues in 2017 as a result of WAM. The SDK has proven that it doesn’t have any effect on app performance and can generate revenues which mean developers can charge less for app subscriptions.

Tom Luke, Vice President, Tutela, said: “Tutela’s SDK and business model makes it easier for app developers, such as BRO, to recruit and nurture users. Recent research found ads and app charges drive 63% of adults away from apps. Every time a user is asked to pay for something, perhaps via an in-app purchase or a subscription charge, conversion rates are negatively impacted. Similarly, in-app advertising can diminish the perceived value of an app to the end user.”

Tom continues: “By providing app publishers with alternative revenue streams, it is possible to remove friction points that exist, leading to higher conversion and retention rates, without compromising the end user0 experience. The data we collect doesn’t affect the user or device, but it is used by mobile telecoms companies to quickly understand and improve networks for their users. They pay us for the data and we share the revenue with the mobile app publishers, so it’s a win-win-win for the mobile companies, the app publishers and the users.”

Scott Kutler, Founder, BRO, adds: “User experience is important for us, so earning more revenue without affecting the user - and improving the world’s mobile Internet at the same time, was a no brainer. Tutela allows us to focus on attracting new users, and improving our technology offering, whilst driving revenue.”

Unlike other forms of data monetisation, Tutela does not collect any personal information or unique device data. This protects the device owner’s privacy and ensures compliance with data protection and privacy laws like the EU Data Protection Directive and COPPA.
