Safety components for energy and industrial automation
(PresseBox) - At Hannover Messe on 24?28 April 2017, Schaltbau GmbH will be presenting its solutions for safety applications (Hall 11, Stand D27). For the first time, the energy sector will witness the innovative, patented method for extinguishing arcs in switchgear. The programme also includes snap-action switches with extremely low failure rates, and connectors that can transfer energy and signals even under the most gruelling conditions.
This year, we?ll be focusing on our CT power contactor series. Its patented arc extinguishing method ensures genuine device safety. This innovative technology effectively prevents contacts from fusing or burning off and even the whole device from being damaged irreparably in the end. The power contactors have been designed for a rated operating voltage of 1.5?3 kV and permanent currents up to 1100 A. Fulfilling the current standards, a number of select CT contactors are now also available with UL approval. They are used in inverters for energy storage and PV installations, test rigs in the automotive industry, and fast charging stations for electric buses.
Thanks to their bidirectional design, the new universal contactors C195X are predestined for use in grid stabilisation battery banks: emergency cutouts are possible in both charging and discharging modes. With a current carrying capacity of 320 A, they can switch voltages of up to 1500 V.
The snap-action switch range is characterised by extremely low failure rates (1 FIT) and up to ten million operating cycles. All Schaltbau snap-action switches are therefore in high demand for many safety applications: safety switches in protective doors, geared cam limit switches in cranes and wind power brakes, medium voltage switch stations.
These switch solutions are also available as extremely robust variants that are resistant to heat, chemicals, and impacts.
Gruelling environmental and operating conditions are no problem to Schaltbau connectors. The M series is dust and pressure water tight and largely resistant to aggressive liquids and vapours. The connectors are therefore ideal for harsh environments in food packaging machines, tunnel luminaires, and mining and power station structures.
