Mike Perkins Named Judge for L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest
Worldwide Illustrator Contest that Launches Careers of New Speculative Fiction Artists Brings Another Legend on Board to Judge
(firmenpresse) - Award-winning superhero artist for Marvel Comics, Mike Perkins has been named as a judge in the highly acclaimed L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest, it was announced by Author Services, Inc., the literary agency and administrator of the contest.
Now in its 33rd year, the Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests award annual cash prizes totaling $30,000. It includes annual publication of the years winning stories and illustrations in the anthology titled "L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 33." (Galaxy Press).
Mike has worked on "Captain America," "Thor," "The X-Men" and Stephen King''s "The Stand."
Mike will judge for the grand prize illustration each year of the contest and lend his support and mentoring in the years to come.
He is warmly welcomed into the ranks of contest judges for Illustrators of the Future that include other notable artists such as Dave Dorman, Bob Eggleton, Larry Elmore, Stephan Martiniere, Gary Meyer, and Shaun Tan to name a few. Past judges include the legendary Frank Frazetta, Frank Kelly Freas, Edd Cartier, Leo Dillon, Will Eisner, Paul Lehr, Moebius and Alex Schomburg.
Following the 1982 release of his internationally acclaimed bestselling science fiction novel, Battlefield Earth, written in celebration of 50 years as a professional writer, L. Due to the success of the Writing Contest, the companion Illustrators of the Future Contest was created in 1988.

The 310 past winners of the Illustrating Contest have produced over 4,500 illustrations, 356 comic books, graced 594 books and albums with their art and visually contributed to 36 TV shows and 46 major movies.
The Writers and Illustrators of the Future Award is the genres most prestigious award of its kind and has now become the largest, most successful and demonstrably most influential vehicle for budding creative talent in the world of speculative fiction.
