Gaining operational insights into quality data could change the dynamics of quality management, says InfinityQS

It gives the example of a single report uniting an entire enterprise’s performance, easily accessible via smartphone or tablet.
Lyle believes this kind of system would change the dynamics of the quality management role: “Bringing together data from all the diverse sources involved in manufacturing and presenting it in one centralised, easy-to-access data hub would enable the quality management professional to shift from an after-the-fact, problem-solving perspective to a forward-thinking one. This visibility over the entire operation enables them to easily analyse data specific to any combination of plants, regions, products, processes, shifts, or other criteria that can impact manufacturing, getting a wide perspective in real-time.
“The key here is that by studying variances across time in these factors, you can not only determine precisely what might be causing a problem, but you can also discover opportunities to improve quality – not just across one line, but beyond to a whole plant and even to the entire organisation.”
