Once chocolate was thought to be unhealthy – today we know that it’s a superfood with tremendous benefits for your body inside and out!

Cocoa has been scientifically proven to be rich in anti-oxidants, which slow the aging process, and flavonoids, which lower blood pressure, improve blood flow and are highly beneficial for the heart.
Important to Know
The greater the percentage of cocoa solids in your chocolate, the greater the health benefits. It’s generally recommended to eat dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa solids. Some chocolate aficionados also recommend 85% and 90% chocolate which has a much stronger flavour and is much closer to raw chocolate.
Chocolate is nutrient rich (not just calories) and contains copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, zinc and fibre content. – with a line-up like that, how can it not be a superfood?

But even we were surprised when an article in the Journal of Nutrition suggested that chocolate can also be used externally to promote better skin health and tone.

Display stands, attractive packs, signs – all these are tried and true methods we all use. But to make a real impression you have to try something different to get their attention.
Here’s a revolutionary idea – based on research for chocolate as a skin formula, why not set up a pop-up beauty stall in your shop. Set aside some space and invite the public to try this unique beauty treatment for themselves.
Here’s what you need to do.
The purer the chocolate the better; the products you use should be 70% cocoa solids and even higher. We have many 70% and more cocoa bars so check our website for more information or contact our sales team.
There are many recipes for chocolate face packs – here is just one:
Ingredients (this is enough for one application:
•1 Tbsp of quality cocoa powder
•2 Tbsp of grated dark chocolate (70% or greater)
•1 Tbsp of fresh, natural yoghurt
•A pinch of ground cinnamon
Melt the chocolate over a bain-marie.
When it is fully melted and has a smooth consistency, add the cocoa powder, the yoghurt and cinnamon.
Stir until everything is incorporated and you have a thick, cake batter consistency.
Apply evenly and leave on for about 15 minutes before rinsing the face with warm water.
Variations
Make a mixture with mashed avocado for extra hydration.
Make another with some honey for its antibacterial characteristics.
Make a third batch with some olive or almond oil.
Remember to keep a good supply of aprons to protect your customers’ clothes.
Once you’ve got them in, they’ll love the treatment and come back for more – chocolates, of course!
