(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/12/16 -- The Government of Canada is committed to negotiating in good faith with bargaining agents to reach agreements that are fair and reasonable for employees and for all Canadian taxpayers.

The Government and the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) have reached tentative agreements with four of PIPSC''s six bargaining units. If ratified, the agreements will apply to over 18,000 federal employees.

A key part of these agreements is to put a process in place to move forward with the modernization of the Government''s sick leave system through the implementation of an Employee Wellness Support Program. These agreements also demonstrate significant progress on important issues, such as scientific integrity and domestic violence.

The agreements show the commitment by both the Government and PIPSC to negotiating in good faith to reach agreements that are good for the public service and good for Canadians.
