Revenues of Taiwan''s biotechnology industry in 2015 rose 3.5% to NT$298.6 billion, with the medical device industry accounting for 44.5% of that total. The developmental strategy for the local medical devices industry has been to emphasize innovation and high value, with the hope of combining the technical capacities of the ICT, composite materials and precision machinery sectors to hasten the development of high added-value medical devices.
