(firmenpresse) - BEIJING, CHINA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/09/16 -- , a content supply and production platform with more than 4,200 broadcast-ready, China-focused videos, raw footages, audios and scripts available to different media platforms in the world, has released a series of videos about the different lives that have changed since the opening of the China-Europe Block Train.

One of the released videos, set in Hamburg, Germany, shows a day in the life of Samir Turkovic, a young German who just finished his training to be a crane operator in DUSS Terminal. The terminal is part of the China-Europe Block Train, a project that stemmed out of the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative of China proposed in 2013.

Also known as the Modern Silk Road, it is the longest freight train route in the world, traveling more than 10,000 kilometers along the Eurasia land bridge, more efficient than traditional maritime transport, and less expensive than air freight. The train creates enormous opportunities for the local businesses in the countries where it passes and great job opportunities for the people.

The China-Europe Block Train is one of the important points of the OBOR strategy. OBOR is an attempt to boost trade and political relations between China, Europe, and Asia. Much like the trade partnership between China and the EU, Indonesia is also one of the leading trade partners of China.

Indonesia is set to benefit the most from this project, creating massive development opportunities in infrastructure and logistics, trade and investments, and education. These, in return, will create more employment opportunities not only for Indonesia but also for the nations along the Belt Road.

With the Maritime Silk Road component of OBOR focusing on utilizing sea routes and Chinese coastal ports, Indonesia will see more developed ports and hinterland links that will increase its economic competitiveness and reducing logistics costs that is essential to the export industry of Indonesia. This will also open the doors to increase the supply and demand enabling the local companies to compete globally.

As with other Asian countries, better infrastructure will bring more investors which will develop the industrial capacity of Indonesia. Already in the pipeline since 2015 is the construction of an industrial park in Western Java where Chinese investors together with Indonesian companies, will develop manufacturing plants that are ready to go global in the trade industry.

Such initiatives, as evident with the China-Europe Block Train, will create more employment opportunities for Indonesia and its neighboring countries. This is one of the greatest benefits of OBOR. A World Bank study states that for every $1 billion spent on infrastructure in a region, more than 100,000 jobs are created.

Samir is one of the many who has benefited from it and OBOR would like to see more people like him, not only in Europe but also in Indonesia.
