Escort and NAV-TV Announce Collaboration to Debut CLiR Radar Integration for Vehicle Instrument Clusters

CLiR is a controller area network (CAN) interface that utilizes NAV-TV''s patented CAN filtering technology. This enables communication between the radar detector and the vehicle network to seamlessly display and control an array of data and functions through the factory steering wheel, including the detector''s power, volume, sensitivity, location marking, mute, laser disable, software updating, and more.
Additional features include:
automatically shuts down the laser shifters for 30 seconds upon alert
allows for software updates, ensuring a wide range of present and future vehicle compatibility
4 AMP, 12 Volt accessory output to power the radar detector

CLiR will be available in August in select Audi vehicles and compatible with Escort''s PASSPORT® 9500CI and Beltronics™ STiR Plus high-performance "stealth" radar systems, followed closely by integration in the 2017 Porsche 911 in September. Compatibility for additional Porsche and Audi models will be added later this year, and vehicle integrations with BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, GMC, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati and Mercedes Benz will become available in early 2017.
