Versatile linear LED luminaire VARYO
With VARYO LMT offers a linear LED luminaire which is perfectly suitable for the illumination of roofed or open outdoor areas like station platforms or car parks and – thanks to protection rating IP 65 and protection class II - is also appropriate for cold stores.
(firmenpresse) - Hilpoltstein, August 17, 2016 – The VARYO luminaire family was developed by LMT Leuchten + Metall Technik GmbH for an optimum illumination of station platforms, distribution levels, pedestrian underpasses, car parks and industrial buildings, for example cold stores. With protection rating IP 65 and protection class II, VARYO ideally suits these areas.
To meet the requirements of various fields of application, the linear LED luminaire VARYO 2542 is provided in different beam characteristics, lengths and power options. The standard version is delivered with a light colour of 4.000 Kelvin (neutral white). Due to its light mixing chamber with diffuser, that prevents from looking directly on the bright LED dots, the luminaire is absolutely glare-free. The housing consists of aluminium with anodised surface and a plastic or real glass cover. With its elegant and clean look VARYO is well suitable for the use as a single luminaire, whereas it was actually designed to be inserted into lighting tubes.
Flexible lighting design with VARYO
As diverse the requirements of lighting planning may be – as adaptable proves the linear LED luminaire VARYO. For this reason VARYO was installed as one of three components into the lighting tubes at the roofed driveway of terminal 1 at the Frankfurt Airport (see press release 001 of June 16, 2016).

Especially for the realisation of large-scale projects this is a great advantage in order to complete reliably on schedule and within budget“, explains Michael Otterpohl, CEO of LMT Leuchten + Metall Technik GmbH.
The linear LED luminaire VARYO was especially designed for the installation in lighting tubes, but is also applicable as an single luminaire. Corresponding to the profile of the tube or housing are flat or curved covers available, which may consist of either PMMA or polycarbonate (PC) or - only when flat - also real glass. For the creation of different lighting solutions the planner can choose between variants with symmetrical and asymmetrical light distribution. Due to the light mixing chamber with diffuser there are no single LED dots perceptible and therefore the luminaire is completely glare-free. The LED boards are available with a luminous flux of 1,000 or 2,200 Lumen per 30 cm module length. Apart from the standard light colour of 4,000 Kelvin also variants with tunable white LEDs, dimming or put-through-wiring are feasible for special applications.
The dimensions of the luminaire are 161 x 86 Millimeter in cross-section, the standard lengths are 704 or 1,274 Millimeter – further lengths are possible when requested. Depending on the type, the linear LED luminaire VARYO has a power consumption of 22 to 88 Watt, and is therefore enormously economical, efficient, durable and almost maintenance-free. The service life amounts to a minimum of 80.000 hours. In addition, VARYO provides the possibility to change either single LED modules or complete luminaire inserts. The completion of the VDE certification process is expected by the end of 2016.
