BOWMORE Launches Phase 2 Drill Program on Its Southern Quebec Quartzite Property
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 08/16/16 -- Bowmore Explorations Ltd. (the "Company" or "Bowmore") (TSX VENTURE: BOW)(FRANKFURT: 0B5) is pleased to announce launching of Phase 2 of its reconnaissance drill program on its Southern Quebec quartzite property. In late 2015 the company completed 15 shallow drill holes, from which several 3 to 5 m-thick, relatively pure, pale grey quartzite horizons were identified. Processing of this material resulted in a purified sand-size product following crushing, sieving, optical and magnetic separations. Results to date from X-ray fluorescence analyses indicate greater than 99.0% SiO2 purity and additional test work is being carried out using more precise analytical techniques in order to better quantify low levels of impurities.
The main objective of the 2016 drill program is testing of the quality, purity and strike length of the known quartzite horizons. The drill has been mobilized and Phase 2 will comprise and additional 12 to 15 shallow holes (less than 20 metres deep). The program is to be completed within the next two weeks.
Quebec South Silica Project
The Company holds several silica properties in Quebec, including 66 claims covering approximately 4,007 hectares in the southern part of the province. The property is well located and accessible by paved roads, abundant infrastructure and is close to commercial rail and waterways. Previous 2015 exploration work that included widely-spaced rock and channel sampling returned positive results in 4 distinct sectors, Farm Area, Scrap Yard, St-Pierre and Dump area averaging 99.4% Si02, 99.5% Si02, 94.0% Si02 and 99.0% Si02 respectfully (see Press release February 4, 2016).
Management continues to invest considerable efforts in researching high-purity silica products and establishing physical and chemical criteria for these specialized, lucrative high-end markets.
