Customs Clearance World applauds The Department of Immigration and Border Control’s introduction of the new ‘Australian Trusted Trader’ Authorised Economic Operator certification programme.
(firmenpresse) - This programme has been introduced to assist and secure the international supply chain, while facilitating the movement of legitimate trade.
Australian Trusted Trader accreditation is free and available to all Australian businesses that are active in the international trade supply chain, and meet or exceed the following required standards:
An Australian Business Number (ABN)Two years history of participation in international trade activitiesThe ability to demonstrate they are financially solvent.A dedicated Account ManagerPriority trade servicesDifferentiated and prioritised examinations Mutual recognition arrangements
The benefits to Trusted Traders include:

The €˜Mutual Recognition Arrangements€™ available to those accredited with €˜Australian Trusted Trader€™ status are being established between the Australian Government and their key trading partners. The arrangements will enable Trusted Traders to access trade facilitation benefits of the reciprocal trading partner€”reducing the customs regulatory burden for Australian exporters entering foreign markets. This means that mutual recognition greatly contributes to the facilitation and control of goods moving in the international supply chain.
From financial year 2017-18, Trusted Traders will receive deferral of duty payments on imported goods for a set period and streamlined reporting arrangements to reduce the administrative burden involved in importing and exporting goods.
