Former Customer Pays TempWorks Money in Settlement of Hostage Data Lawsuit
(firmenpresse) - EAGAN, MN -- (Marketwired) -- 07/12/16 -- , a California staffing and recruiting company, settles with , a leader in staffing software, agreeing to pay TempWorks an undisclosed sum in settlement of a lawsuit initiated by Nova in 2015. Nova agreed to pay the settlement in exchange for dismissal, and the agreement states that neither party is admitting to wrongful conduct.
Nova initiated suit in November of 2015, alleging that the software company refused to provide copies of its operating databases in TempWorks'' custody. As part of its initial filing, it sought an injunction compelling TempWorks to produce Nova''s databases. Less than two weeks thereafter, Hennepin County District Court Judge Thomas M. Sipkins denied Nova''s motion, stating in his order that "TempWorks has not denied Nova access to [its] data. Nova has access to the data through the software, in PDF form, and through the FTP site."
As a routine matter, TempWorks provides operating data to its customers upon request in a variety of convenient formats, and makes those available on its customer FTP server.
