Great Park Neighborhoods Developer Supports Amphitheater's 35-Year Tradition of Live Music in Orange County as Fans Bid Farewell
(firmenpresse) - ALISO VIEJO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/23/16 -- Great Park Neighborhoods developer Holdings has agreed to sponsor a Concert Series at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. The FivePoint concert series at Irvine Meadows brings together Live Nation (NYSE: LYV) and California''s largest developer for a farewell to Orange County''s largest and most popular outdoor concert stage.

Opened in 1981, Irvine Meadows grew with Orange County into one of the nation''s premier venues as it hosted acts as varied as Michael Jackson, Jimmy Buffett and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. The amphitheater is slated to close this fall after its current season, the 35th.

FivePoint is in the midst of building out 688 acres of the Great Park -- including playing fields, natural parkland, a golf course and multi-purpose trails -- as part of a $200-million public benefit package approved by the City of Irvine in 2013. FivePoint committed $2 million toward the study and planning of facilities within the cultural terrace where the amphitheater is proposed. Near the Irvine Transportation Center, the proposed cultural terrace site at the south end of the Great Park would extend the publicly accessible areas of the park from Irvine Boulevard all the way to Barranca Parkway.
