(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/13/16 -- Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat

The Government of Canada is committed to restoring a culture of respect for and within the federal public service.

Canada is fortunate to have one of the best, most professional and dedicated public services in the world. Along with the vital programs and services they deliver every day, public servants innovate to meet emerging priorities and respond to emergencies. This year public servants answered the call to help their fellow citizens displaced by the Fort McMurray wildfires and have worked tirelessly to welcome tens of thousands of Syrian refugees into Canadian society.

National Public Service Week, celebrated annually the third week of June, recognizes the accomplishments of federal public service employees and promotes the values of public service. Departments and agencies are organizing special events throughout the week to mark the occasion across Canada.

The motto of National Public Service Week is "Proudly Serving Canadians." It is a time for all Canadians to take pride in the contribution of federal public service employees and the difference they make in Canadians'' lives every day.
