Government of Canada Investment to Strengthen Western Canada''s Aerospace and Defence Industry
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/25/16 -- Western Economic Diversification Canada
Today, the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada, announced $507,370 in funding to support the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC).
WD funding of $75,000 will support the 2016 Aerospace, Defence & Security Expo (ADSE), which is the largest aerospace and defence trade show and exhibition in Western Canada. ADSE brings a significant international presence to the region and provides Canadian businesses with vital networking opportunities with key national and international organizations. Federal funding also supported delivery of ADSE 2015.
The remainder of the project funding has enabled AIAC to establish the Western Canadian presence at a series of international events including the 2015 Paris Air Show, the 2016 Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance Annual Conference, the 2016 Singapore Air Show, the 2016 Aerospace and Defence Supplier Summit, as well as the upcoming 2016 Farnborough International Air Show.
These industry events were chosen because of their critical importance to the sector and key target markets. Presence at these events has provided opportunities for western Canadian companies to enter international markets, promote western Canadian aerospace interests and expertise, and increase international sales.
