AK Steel and NanoSteel Honored With "Breakthrough Solution of the Year" by Platts Global Metals Awards
(firmenpresse) - WEST CHESTER, OH -- (Marketwired) -- 05/20/16 -- AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) and ® Company received the "Breakthrough Solution of the Year" award from Platts Global Metals Awards for the development of advanced automotive sheet that combines high strength and high formability for automotive lightweighting. AK Steel produced NanoSteel''s advanced automotive sheet at its facilities. The companies, who are joint development partners, believe this Third Generation Advanced High Strength steel constitutes a step change in performance over existing advanced high strength steel products. The award was presented in London on May 19, 2016, as part of the global awards program honoring excellence and accomplishments in the global metals industry.
