Fisheries and Oceans Canada Welcomes 20 New Conservation and Protection Officers
(firmenpresse) - REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN -- (Marketwired) -- 05/13/16 -- A troop of 20 new fishery officers have graduated from the Fishery Officer Trainee program and will be joining the ranks of the Conservation and Protection Branch of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Allan MacLean, Director General, Conservation and Protection Program, was on hand to congratulate the officers in person on behalf of the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Hunter Tootoo.
The new fishery officers were required to complete 16 weeks of classroom training, including nine weeks of training on enforcement methods at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. The graduates will now complete 30 months of practical training in Conservation and Protection field offices across Canada.
