Richard Matthews and Derek Wheatley Named Co-Heads of Canada for the Global Energy Investment Bank
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA and HOUSTON, TEXAS -- (Marketwired) -- 05/10/16 -- (TPH & Co.) announced today that Richard Matthews and Derek Wheatley have been named Co-Heads of Canada for Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Securities - Canada. Matthews, formerly with FirstEnergy Capital Corp., and Wheatley, formerly with Scotiabank, join TPH & Co. Canada Chair, Hilary Foulkes, in driving the firm''s Canadian efforts.

Matthews, who will serve as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Canada, was previously a Managing Director and Head of Canadian Acquisitions & Divestitures at FirstEnergy Capital Corp. in Calgary. Prior to that, he served with Scotia Waterous and its predecessor, Waterous & Co., in Calgary and Houston, as well as with Rider Resources and Crestar Energy, both in Calgary. He holds a BSc with Honors in Geological Sciences from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the University of Calgary.
Wheatley will also serve as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Canada. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Wheatley has both institutional sales and corporate finance experience. He was previously a Managing Director of Institutional Equities at Scotiabank, and prior to that served as a Corporate Finance Director at Scotia Waterous. Wheatley began his career as a Corporate Finance Analyst at predecessor firm Waterous & Co. and holds a BComm in Finance from the University of Calgary where he graduated as the Gold Medalist.
TPH & Co. intends to establish a full service investment bank in Canada, providing integrated views of North American and global energy to clients. The Calgary-based team will cater to companies in the upstream, infrastructure and oilfield services sectors, as well as coordinate with TPH & Co.''s Equity Research team to establish coverage and provide investment recommendations to institutional investor clients.
