Major Energy Announces Sale to National Gas & Electric
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 05/04/16 -- , headquartered in Orangeburg, N.Y., today announced that it has been acquired by National Gas & Electric ("NGE"), an affiliate of Spark Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPKE) ("Spark") and that Spark and NGE have reached terms for Major Energy to be transferred to Spark.
The deal between NGE and Major Energy, a retail energy business with approximately 210,000 RCEs, is worth up to $80.0 million plus adjustments for working capital. NGE closed on the acquisition of Major Energy on April 15, 2016 and has since been preparing the company as a drop-down to Spark.
Major Energy serves electricity and natural gas customers in eight states and adds 15 new utility territories to Spark''s footprint.
