Correctional Service Canada Recognizes Outstanding Volunteer
Prairies man wins 2015 Taylor Award

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is pleased to announce that the 2015 Taylor Award was awarded to Alex W. Bouchard at a presentation on April 15th. The Taylor Award is presented annually to a CSC volunteer who exemplifies the spirit of dedication and caring needed to help offenders rebuild their lives.
Mr. Bouchard started his volunteer service with CSC over 10 years ago as a chapel volunteer at Saskatchewan Penitentiary. He quickly recognized the need for ongoing addiction support in the institution and was instrumental in re-establishing a 12-step self-help program for offenders dealing with alcoholism. Alex also serves as non-security escort and frequently connects released offenders with community addiction supports.
Mr. Bouchard''s personal integrity and excellent rapport with inmates contributed towards him being appointed to the Prince Albert Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) in 2011. Saskatchewan Penitentiary Warden Jason Hope states, "Alex exudes genuine caring and kindness to both inmates and staff that he may encounter while carrying out his volunteer commitment at the Penitentiary."
