Natures Comfort Meds Patent Approved for Botanical Extractions From Cannabis and Hemp; Testing Underway for Effectivity of Treating Respiratory Disorders
(firmenpresse) - PROVIDENCE, RI -- (Marketwired) -- 04/18/16 -- (NCM), registered mutual benefit nonprofit producer of RSO based oils, gel capsules, topical, and autoimmune treatment products, announces the award of United States patent for medical marijuana and hemp cannabis extraction process. Testing for effective treatment of respiratory diseases is currently in process. See details at poster section, Interphex 2016, Javits Center, New York City, April 26-28, 2016.
According to Frederick R. Ferri, NCM founder, "Natures Comfort Meds is among few of the world''s patent holders regarding botanical extractions from cannabis and hemp plants. Providence, RI based (BTL) is currently testing NCM Cannabis oil separately and in combination with STCF or SLO for the treatment of respiratory diseases."
NCM research and development has resulted in positive benefits for treating illnesses including veterans suffering from PTSD, children with autism, various types of cancer, patients with a variety of neurological disorders, pain management, auto-immune disorders and seizures due to Epilepsy.
Beech Tree Labs recently conducted in vitro experiments using cells with different origins (epithelial, blood, lung etc.) to determine the genes regulated by the STCF or SLO formulation (separately and in combination). A significant number of genes associated with Asthma and COPD disease pathology were influenced by exposure to BTL formulations.
This study is investigating if cannabis oil, alone or in combination with BTL formulations, changes Asthma or COPD-associated gene expressions in human small airway epithelial cells. There have been no studies conducted using whole cannabis extract to document gene expression profiles associated with respiratory illnesses.
Mr. Ferri added, "NCM has been researching and developing RSO based medicinal products since 2009; our application has been pending over a year and is a reality. We are now in position to develop a partnership or mutually beneficial licensee to obtain the right to produce and distribute NCM''s oils.
"NCM has been working on isolating strains of hemp and cannabis for cultivation, to preform extraction, processing, and testing, for their distinct cannibidiol and cannibinoid chains (CBD). We are in trials of CBDTHC isolation and enhancement by combining productive strains found to have complimentary benefits and we are pursuing access to hemp cultivation for further study evolving CBD concentrations. High CBD low THC, equal concentrations CBD/THC, and high THC low CBD studies are ongoing," he said.
Headquartered in Providence, RI, Natures Comfort Meds (NCM) is dedicated to cutting edge research and development using various strains of the cannabis plant and extracting oils utilizing their patented process. Utilizing proprietary methods for botanical extraction, NCM leads the industry in being able to produce highest quality products, currently testing various strains of medicinal plants for use in clinical studies with various partners.
