Acrow Bridge Supplies Remote Alaskan Village With Permanent Structure for Access to Landfill
Cambered Modular Bridge Provides Safe and Reliable Passage for Heavy Truck Traffic
(firmenpresse) - PARSIPPANY, NJ -- (Marketwired) -- 04/12/16 -- , a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, announced today that it has completed the installation of a modular steel bridge to enable access to a landfill in . The Acrow structure was selected, in part, for its ability to accommodate the large size and heavy weight of dump trucks transporting material to the site.
The 115'' x 13''7" cambered bridge with epoxy coated decking was purchased by the Ekwok Village Council and ordered by contractor . The project design engineer was . The job was unique in several ways. The remoteness of the village required that contractor equipment, including the Acrow bridge components, be transported via barge upriver during maximum flow due to the barge draft. In order to make that vessel, the arrival of components to the original departure point of Seattle needed to be carefully coordinated. Additionally, once the components were in place, the bridge needed to be constructed and installed prior to the onset of the harsh Alaskan winter.
"Acrow''s structure was the perfect solution for this project," said Jack Arizcuren, Pacific States Sales Manager at Acrow. "Easily transported and able to withstand the elements, like every Acrow product, this bridge is made entirely out of galvanized steel for anti-corrosion and easy maintenance."
Added Bill Killeen, President and CEO of Acrow Bridge, "The modular design of Acrow bridges make them a perfect choice when a cost-effective and rapid permanent bridging solution is needed. Our customizable components can be engineered for many different applications and have a maintenance-free life span of 75-100 years."
Acrow Bridge has been serving the transportation and construction industries for more than 60 years with a full line of modular steel bridging solutions for vehicle, rail, vessel, military and pedestrian use.
