Statement by the Minister of Democratic Institutions on the Report of the Independent Advisory Board for Senate Appointments
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 04/05/16 -- The Minister of Democratic Institutions, the Honourable Maryam Monsef, today issued the following statement on the occasion of the by the Independent Advisory Board for Senate Appointments on the transitional phase of the new Senate appointments process:
"I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of the members of the Advisory Board for their excellent work and careful review of all applications during the transitional phase of the new Senate appointments process."
"I also want to acknowledge those organizations and individuals who engaged in the process and especially those who were willing to be considered."
"The Government will carefully review the Advisory Board''s first report to the Prime Minister on the transitional phase of this new process and consider its contents in establishing the permanent phase which will soon be launched."
