High precision NDIR-CO2-sensor module facilitates measuring the indoor air quality
Also suited for environment with constant CO2 concentration
(PresseBox) - A newly designed high precision NDIR-CO2-sensor module for measuring and controlling the indoor air quality is presented by Unitronic at SENSOR+TEST 2016 in hall 1, booth 559. The sensor module CDM7160 developed by Figaro counts with two integrated detector elements, of which one serves as reference channel. This approach allows performing absolute measurements. Whereas single-sensor low-cost modules without reference channel allow only relative CO2-measurements, the CDM7160 can also be used in environments with constant CO2 concentration.
In order to fulfill highest quality demands each module is calibrated individually. The detection range of the CDM7160 comprises 300 to 5000 ppm CO2, measurement accuracy lies at +/- 50 ppm + 3%. The measurements are performed at intervals of two seconds each. The power supply required is between 4.5 up to 5.25 VDC. The medium current consumption at measuring intervals of 2 seconds lies at 8 mA. During the measurement the sensor consumes a maximum of 60 mA peak.
With dimensions of only 32 x 17 x 7.4 mm and a weight of only 3 g the NDIR-CO2-sensor module CDM7160, which is specified for operating temperatures ranging from 0 to 50°C, can be installed in every sort of indoor ambients, fresh air fans, air conditioning systems as well as automatic window openers without large additional space requirements. The sensor module with a UART, an I2C digital interface and an analogue PWM output allows a simple, cost-effective integration in every product of the user.
