Fresh off the heels of that shows Mr. Weir pushing and screaming at workers who were peacefully distributing literature in front of the hotel, the game is proving to be a major hit with visitors of the UFCW Canada website, as it has already attracted nearly 20,000 hits.
The release of the Bad Western Chicken Cannon game comes at the same time that business at Best Western Seven Oaks appears to be nose-diving, as evidenced by published by UFCW Canada Local 1400, the union that represents workers at the hotel.
The photos reveal a near-empty parking lot at Seven Oaks during March Break, a historically busy period for Regina''s hospitality industry, with only a handful of cars parked in the hotel''s massive, 100-plus space parking lot. They suggest that the months-long strike appears to be taking a serious toll on business at Best Western Seven Oaks.
Workers at Best Western Seven Oaks have been striking in the cold since last December in an effort to obtain respect and fairness on the job. The Best Western employees are asking for a living wage, fair benefits, and back pay, but Mr. Weir refuses to negotiate with the union, and Best Western International - headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona - has yet to intervene in the negotiations.
