Silicon Valley Open Studios (SVOS) Connects Local Artists and Art Enthusiasts
Now in Its 30th Year, the Free Event Offers the Opportunity to Get "Up Close and Personal" With Peninsula, South Bay and Coastal Artists
(firmenpresse) - CAMPBELL, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/22/16 -- South Bay, Peninsula and coastal artists will open their studios to the public during the first three weekends in May (May 7-8, 14-15 and 21-22). This annual event, now in its 30th year, lets visitors experience a wide variety of art in the artists'' own studios.
More than 380 artists in over 150 locations will display their art. The artists work in a variety of visual media including painting, fiber arts, printmaking, mixed media, jewelry, photography, sculpture and ceramics. The art (except for photographs and prints) is one-of-a-kind.
"The fact that this event has lasted for 30 years is a testament to its popularity," said Mel Thomsen, executive director of SVOS. "In fact, SVOS grows bigger every year because visitors enjoy interacting with the artists and seeing a lot of their work at one time. The event also provides an easy, cost-effective way for art enthusiasts to start an art collection."
