The record company he founded launched the careers of such timeless superstars as Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and the legendary Diana Ross. Along the way, he established one of the most distinctive sounds in music history €“ the Motown sound.
€œMotown lovers will find it hard to stay in their seats," wrote one critic. The musical features more than 40 classic hits, as well as lesser known songs from the Motown era, as it tells the behind-the-scenes story behind their releases.
The show features choreography by Patricia Wilcox and Warren Adams, scenic design by David Korins, and costume design by Tony Award nominee ESosa. It''s produced by a Tony Award winning team of Keven McCollum, Doug Morris, and the founder of Motown himself, Berry Gordy.
