Macro 4’s mainframe performance and fault analysis solutions to support IBM COBOL V6.1 launch
(firmenpresse) - March 16, 2016
Macro 4, a division of UNICOM® Global, has today announced that its mainframe performance and fault analysis solutions will support the new IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, V6.1, which becomes available to IBM customers on March 18th.
“This latest version of COBOL will incorporate advanced code generation and optimization technology to maximize hardware utilization and boost application performance. It also comes with new COBOL statements - including the JSON GENERATE statement - and expanded compiler options that provide greater capacity for optimizing larger programs,” explained Macro 4’s R&D manager, Keith Banham. “At Macro 4 we’ve introduced support for V6.1 in our new software releases, to enable a smooth upgrade for our customers. We always make it a priority to ensure our mainframe fault analysis, testing and debugging and performance management tools support the latest operating software and subsystems - for example we also provide support for z/OS V2.2, IMS V14, DB2 11 for z/OS, and CICS TS for z/OS V5.3.”
Macro 4’s performance and fault analysis solutions reduce the costs and timescales involved in developing and supporting critical mainframe applications, helping organizations identify and resolve mainframe software problems faster and deliver consistently high levels of customer service.
